Kornelija climbs at the Castle in London. Let’s just say she’s good at it…
I photographed Martin Morales at his new Peruvian restaurant Ceviche, in Frith Street, London-Soho. It had just opened, specialising in all kinds of Peruvian dishes, the signature dish being it’s name sake Ceviche. (This is fresh raw fish usually marinated in citrus juices and spiced with chilli peppers). The taste of Lima. Be careful when choosing some of the 40% proof cocktails! As I found to my peril.

I recently spent a few days with the anti-capitalist protesters outside St Paul’s cathedral. I was on commission but decided to get some portraits while I was there. Real people with real stories…
I shot these images recently for a fashion site but I couldn’t resist taking some portraits of the cool people I met. Everyone was really up for it. I sometimes think the etiquette in London is not to talk to each other but this project proved me wrong. Nearly everyone wanted to chat and spare some time to be photographed. A really fun project.

I photographed Matt at the Manchester Aquatics centre. He’s currently in training to qualify for the British Olympic swimming team. His event is possibly the toughest, the 50 metres freestyle. No British swimmer has ever managed to swim the qualifying time of 22.11. A fast time and a lot of hours in the pool.

This was definitely an off beat and a slightly unusual shoot for me which saw me travelling to the Isle of Wight to shoot them. They are fascinating creatures which don’t sit still for long and fly off quickly when you try and get near. They only live for about 3 weeks except for a few species including Monarchs, which migrate large distances and can live for nine months. Definitely a pleasure to spend time in their company.
This was a tough shoot. It bucketed down with rain all day long. Photographers aren’t always best friends with rain and to top it all it was dark and thundery. The dogs were scared, the people were scared and the helicopter pilot was a wannabe Top Gun. These dogs had never jumped from a helicopter before. Their loyalty to save their owners in the water and their trust in humans meant they all jumped… With a helping hand!

Sri Lanka.’The road to Arugam Bay’. A surfer’s paradise. This story ran in Gulf air’s inflight magazine, Gulf Life. The images have also been used by CNN Traveller and by the Metro newspaper. It’s an arduous journey to Arugam Bay. Even after making it to Sri Lanka’s capital Columbo, it’s a further twelve hours along dusty roads. But this is a small price to pay for the amazing scenery and wildlife you’ll see.
The London Roller Girls… Tattoos and tears… I shot this story for Ryanair’s inflight magazine. The colours, the atmosphere and the scene is definitely a spectacle to be seen!
“Each jam lasts just two minutes, and the crowd goes wild for aggressive blocking, fouling and players being propelled into their midst. This is a game in which blood is spilled on the track and beer is spilled off it…”

Harry Hill when he had hair! We were backstage at a comedy gig Harry was about to do. He was full of life and on top form. A true gentleman. The gig went brilliantly. The images had to be quite stylised to fit the look of the feature. Another image from the set made the front cover and I was made up at the time.

This was one definitely an interesting shoot, backstage at the Moulin Rouge in Paris. Bright lights, feather boas and six foot girls… Not to mention the troupe of tiny ponies that appeared backstage nibbling my camera bag…
